Results of a Poll of 50 Students

You’re walking out of Honors Pre-cal and after receiving an intelligent lecture, you feel your IQ drop twenty points as you walk by Adam and Eve playing tonsil hockey behind the stairs-but that’s the cool thing to do, right?

A survey was given to fifty Croatan students to pry into their personal life and find out the students’ opinion on high school love.

Eighty-seven percent of males believed in high school love while only seventy-three percent of females still believed in finding their prince charming.

“They’re [high school relationships] stupid,” stated senior Torri Schmidtt. “I hate it when people hold hands in the hallway. It [irritates] me.”

The surveys portrayed that a lot of people do feel happy and wanted in high school relationships, but there are also feelings of stress and aggravation associated with young love.

“I think that high school relationships can be both good and bad,” replied senior Jake Stevens. “Sometimes the pressures of high school life can make it hard to have a serious relationship, but I think if two people truly like each other and want to date, there is no reason why they shouldn’t.”

Our studies also showed that the majority of females have only had one to three high school relationships while the majority of the boys have had four to seven high school relationships.

Though this seems surprising, more females seemed opposed to the idea of high school love but it does take two, right?

So, next time you’re trying to dart out to your car after Pre-cal before everyone runs you over, make sure to stop and acknowledge the couples making out behind the stairs. They can’t help how deeply in love they are.

Latifa Salim: "I don't think they get you anywhere in life and they hold you back from enjoying high school the way it's supposed to be."

Jake Stevens: "I think that high school relationships can be both good and bad. Sometimes the pressures of high school life can make it hard to have a serious relationship, but I think if two people truly like each other and want to date, there is no reason why they shouldn't."

Torri Schmidtt: "They're stupid. I hate when people hold hands in the hallway-it irritates me."
